Volunteering for charity

It’s not just charity shops, bake sales and sponsored walks

Volunteers are the lifeblood of any charity and we are no exception. There are many ways you can help us with a little or a lot of your time and effort.
You could be a good all-rounder, flexible, like getting stuck in and helping or enjoy working as part of a team. You may want to develop new skills or strengthen existing ones? You may just be keen to help but no idea where to start?

There is no exact recipe for a great volunteer but making that positive first step and offering to get involved is a large ingredient!

There’s a wide range of things for volunteers to get involved with. It’s a fantastic opportunity to top up your CV at a time when the economy is making jobs harder to come by and individuals can develop their skills.
If you have a desire to get involved, common sense approach, positive attitude or just willing to roll your sleeves up and have a go at anything then we’d love to hear from you!

By joining our group ‘Friends of the Wayne Howard Trust’ you will find opportunities to help in an existing fundraising effort or get the chance to organise a fundraising event by test any existing skills you may have, gain some you haven’t, and make some new friends!
We are also looking for volunteers who know their way around eBay, preferably with experience of selling items and good feedback. You will be helping to raise much-needed funds & raise awareness for the charity by attracting shoppers to buy items carefully selected from our range of donations. This opportunity would suit anyone mostly working from home. Please ask if you are interested, even just someone loading pictures onto our eBay templates would be extremely useful and timesaving for us!
You can get involved as much, or as little, as you want and volunteer your support in a way that suits you.  Anyone interested in volunteering without access to Facebook can complete our application form and return to us by post or email.
